What to Expect with a Roof Installation

Replacing your roof is stressful. We are here to help make the transition less stressful.

Our goal is to make your roofing or gutter project easier. We are frequently asked if you should stay or leave the house when our crew is working on your project. If you do stay home, we ask that you exercise caution when stepping outside, as the area around your home is subject to falling debris. Also, please secure children and pets indoors, as their safety is paramount.

Most roof replacements take one day to install. Others may take two or three days depending on the size of the roof. Your presence minimizes delays. Staying at home will help us quickly address any questions or issues that may arise. We respect your concerns and your need for privacy, so we attempt to install not only the highest quality roof, but also to accomplish it in a timely manner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Scheduling

When your signed estimate is received. We will call you to schedule. Generally, we will call you same day of signed contract to get you scheduled  within 2 to 3 weeks, weather permitting. It’s difficult to give an exact date due to severe heat or inclement weather. While waiting for installation, please feel free to call the office.

Point of Contact During Project

Call the office regarding any concerns or questions you may have. We are highly skilled and qualified in every aspect of roofing. During the roofing installation, a manager will introduce himself on the first day on the job and will give you a brief description of what we will be doing. Please address any issues with him prior to leaving the premises to save time.

Material Removal and Delivery

When tearing off your old roof, we will be placing a dumpster/dump trailer as close to your house as possible to minimize debris from falling in your yard. We also have several trucks near your home and ask that you remove all vehicles that you may need out of the garage or driveway during the re-roofing process. We will be parking our trucks and vehicles in the street during the installation process. If a neighbor feels inconvenienced, you may want to notify them of the work to be done so they are prepared.

Noise Levels

During the roofing process, there will be noise inside and outside of the house that you are not accustomed to hearing. We will be using electronic power tools along with some hand tools. If your pets are bothered by loud noises, please make sure arrangements are made for them. Keep in mind, it may be more than a day depending on the size of the house.

Vibrations on the House

While work is in progress, we will be loading and moving material, and other operations that will cause vibrations to the interior walls and ceiling of your home. We are very careful and respectful of your property, but the total elimination of vibration is impossible. If you feel that this vibration will cause any disturbance of pictures or light fixtures, such as ceiling fans, or chandeliers, you will need to remove those items from the walls/ceilings to prevent damage. You may want to consider covering items in your attic to prevent debris from the vibrations.

Debris

Though our team is careful to place debris in dumpster/trailer, there is inevitably going to be some debris and dust during the process. This means that your safety can be at risk if you’re walking outside your house during the removal process. We ask that you take precautions while we are there and stay clear of the debris until we have had a chance to remove it. Once the job is completed, the manager will inspect the yard and sweep for nails that were left behind. We ask you to inspect your yard prior to us leaving, if you choose to remain at home during construction.

Landscaping

When our team tears off old roofing materials debris often falls to the ground. This includes air units, flower beds and other areas close to your home. Though our team is trained to minimize the damage of falling debris, this is often unavoidable. Please assist us during construction by informing us of delicate plants or items close to your home. If they are mobile, please relocate them to a secure place to avoid damage

Outdoor Furniture

Our team removes furniture away from the line of construction before the project begins and replaces it once the project is complete. If it’s permanent furniture that can’t be moved, it will be covered. We are not responsible for any dry-rotted canopy covers due to age or sun damage.

Pools

We will do our best to prevent any debris from blowing into or near your pool, but we ask that you take precautions and cover your pool before our arrival. This will prevent debris from falling into your pool. The wind will sometimes carry debris outside of the area from around your home and may scatter. Our company is not responsible for any damages to your pool if your pool is not covered properly.
